Charley Wootan Grant Program

Charley Wootan Grant ProgramThe Charley Wootan Grant Program annually awards about $4 million in grants to students who are Texas residents, and another $1 million in grants to students residing outside the state of Texas. Dr. Charley V. Wootan is a former Chairperson of the TG Board of Directors - a nonprofit corporation that promotes educational access and success.

Applicants to the grant program must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or otherwise eligible to receive Title IV financial aid funding, must have attained or will attain a high school degree or the equivalent, must be enrolled or planning to enroll in college at least half-time, and must be able to demonstrate financial need.

Applicants must apply by mail vis USPS, Fedex or UPS before the deadline; No acceptions. They do not accept hand-delivered applications, as the postmark is used in evaluating the timing of the arrival of each application.

The selection process consists of a first-come, first-served policy. They do not open every application. If selected, recipients will be notified by mail that they have won the grant. International students are not eligible.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $4,000.
