PMI Educational Foundation Scholarships

PMI Education Foundation ScholarshipsPMI Educational Foundation Scholarships support the development of students to become the best and brightest future project management professionals. The slogan for this non-profit organization is "Empowering the Future of Project Management", and the program is therefore open to college students, educators and existing professionals.

The purpose of the foundation is to promote economic, educational, cultural, and social advancement through the application, development, and promotion of project management concepts, theories, and life skills. Thus, annual scholarship awards are given to encourage study of the theory and application of project management by students and practitioners.

Awards consist of the James R. Snyder International Student Paper of the Year (ISPY) Award, which is available to students pursuing bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees; the Donald S. Barrie Award which recognizes the best paper that advances the project management in the field of design, procurement and/or construction; and the Kerzner Award, which is granted to project managers who emulate professional dedication and excellence.

Doctoral research grants are also given to full-time and part-time doctoral students who are doing research on project, program, or portfolio management.

In addition to scholarships, the foundation confers honorary awards, undertakes research, prepares and disseminates project management related educational information, and awards financial grants to support project management life skills-related projects.

The deadline for these scholarships usually VARIES each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $10,000.
