The Bank of Maine Scholarship Foundation has awarded $28,000 in grants this year under the Bank of Maine Scholars college scholarship program. High school recipients residing in the state can receive $1,000 to be used toward college costs. Since 1985, the Bank of Maine Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $313,000 in scholarships to 374 high school seniors in Maine. This has allowed many students an opportunity to attend college, a goal they might not have otherwise realized.
The scholarship awards are based on financial need, academic achievement, community involvement and character. High school seniors from the surrounding communities served by the Bank of Maine are eligible to apply.
