Charlotte Lemons Annual Student Scholarship (C.L.A.S.S.) is open to students in Georgia and Florida who require financial assistance in order to attend a college, university or technical school. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above, live in either the state of Georgia or Florida, and have financial need.
The scholarship was started in 2004 through the Make A Difference Foundation (MADF), a non-profit organization established in 2003 and dedicated to helping students pursue their higher education goals. MADF has awarded over $48,000 in scholarships since its beginning.
One criteria in applying for the Charlotte Lemons Annual Student Scholarship is an essay on "Making A Difference In My Community," a topic of close personal interest to MADF founder, Donovan R. Quary Sr., who passionately dedicated his time and energy to serving his community. In the essay, students need to explain what needs exist in their community and what they would do to help.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
