Tennessee Hope Scholarship

Tennessee Hope Scholarship
The Tennessee Hope Scholarship is offered to students in the state of Tennessee who plan to attend a local college or university. Scholarships are awarded by the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation, a non-profit organization, and includes both 4-year and 2-year colleges.

Eligibility requirements include either a minimum score of 21 on ACT/980 on SAT, or a grade point average of 3.0. The scholarship is renewable as long as the student maintains a grade point average of 2.75 after completing the first 24 and 48 semester hours. A grade point average of 3.0 must be achieved and maintained following the next 72 and 96 semester hours and beyond.

The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation was founded in 1974 as the result of a merger of the Tennessee Educational Loan Corporation and the Tennessee Tuition Grant Program. It manages not only the Tennessee Hope Scholarship but also other state and federal student assistance programs and loans.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in August of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 to $4,000.
