National High School Journalist of the Year Scholarship
National High School Journalist of the Year Scholarship is a scholarship sponsored by the Journalism Education Association that recognizes the nation's top high school journalists. High school seniors planning to major in journalism in college may apply.

Applying students must have a grade point average of 3.0 and have participated in journalism in high school for at least two years. Students compete at the state level, and winners at the state level go on to compete at the national level. The top prize is a $5,000 scholarship, and scholarships of $2,000 each go to runners-up.

The Journalism Education Association is a member-based non-profit organization that supports students who want a career in journalism through scholarships and other support services. They are also dedicated to promoting the professionalism of the journalism industry.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 - $5,000.
