National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) Scholarships are offered to students interested in a career in the foodservice industry. Five different scholarships are available for students pursuing studies in a restaurant or foodservice program.
The First Time Freshman Scholarship is open to students enrolled for the first time in a U.S. accredited culinary school, college or university. The Al Schuman Ecolab First-Time Freshman Entreprenuerial Scholarship is for students entering a select list of schools and have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and the Al Schuman Ecolab Undergraduate Entrepreneurial Scholarship is for current college students.
The Scholarship for Undergraduate Students is for current college students. The GRI/Giacomo Bologna Scholarship is funded by Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani (GRI), a non-profit organization, that gives up to 6 students an all expense paid trip to Italy to promote education of Italian food and wine.
The NRAEF has awarded $14 million in scholarships since 1997. The Foundation was established in 1987 and supports the education of students pursuing careers in the foodservice industry. The Foundation also provides culinary, management, food safety and skills training to millions of Americans.
The deadline for this scholarship VARIES each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500 - $5,500.
