Vegetarian Resource Group College Scholarships awards two $5,000 scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors who are vegetarians and who promote vegetarianism at their schools and in their communities.
Students must be active supporters of a vegetarian diet and life style; vegetarians do not eat meat, fish or fowl. Students will be asked to submit documentation of their activities in the form of news stories, photographs and other information that will support their promotional activities in support of vegetarianism.
In addition, eligible students will need to submit three letters of recommendation and transcripts of their grades. Students may use the scholarship money at any U.S. college or university.
The Vegetarian Resource Group is a non-profit organization located in Baltimore, Maryland. Its mission is to educate the public on the health benefits of vegetarianism and to encourage healthy changes in communities as well as school and the workplace.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
