Big 33 Scholarship Program is open to students in Ohio and Pennsylvania who are planning to attend a technical school or accredited college or university following graduation. It is sponsored by the Annual Big 33 Football Classic and its sponsors.
Eligible students must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 during their sophomore and junior year of high school. They must also be high school seniors at a public or private school in Ohio or Pennsylvania.
The Big 33 Football Classic began in 1957 and is considered the Super Bowl of high school football with talented athletes from Ohio and Pennsylvania. It begins with a week of many activities that include football players, cheerleaders, and students who win scholarships. It ends with the annual football game played at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
The scholarship foundation has given more than $3.9 million in scholarships to deserving students since 1985. Scholarship winners are featured each year prior to the game as an important part of the pre-game festivities.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
