Liberty Mutual Scholarship awards two scholarships each year to students pursuing degrees in occupational safety and health. The scholarships are not renewable and may be used in either the sophomore, junior or senior year of undergraduate college.

Criteria for scholarship eligibility include a grade point average of 3.0, completion of 60 college semester hours, and student membership in the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) or parents who are ASSE members. Both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens may apply for this scholarship.

Students who apply must be planning to attend a four-year accredited college or university and be enrolled as full-time students. They must also demonstrate financial need.

Liberty Mutual has been a large provider of insurance products and services since 1912. Funding for the Liberty Mutual Scholarship comes from the Liberty Mutual Foundation which supports programs that provide learning opportunities for youth and programs that improve the quality of life and safety in our communities.

The Liberty Mutual Scholarship is awarded by the American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation. With the American Society of Safety Engineers, the foundation provides generates funding and resources for scholarships, research, and other areas that help to advance the safety, health, and environmental profession.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $4,000.
