Society of Physics Students Leadership Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students who are pursuing careers in the physical sciences. Students or their parents must be members of the Society of Physics Students (SPS). Scholarships are available to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens.
Students applying must have high academic performance in both physics and overall courses. They must be active members of SPS and enrolled full-time in either a two-year or four-year college or university with a major in physical science.
The scholarship can be used in either the sophomore, junior or senior year of college, so students must plan to apply no later than their junior year. Along with the application, applicants must send an official certified transcript of grades and two letters of recommendation.
The purpose of the Society of Physics Students Scholarships is to encourage the study of physics and advance education in the physical sciences. The Society of Physics Students is a professional organization, formed in 1968, for students interested in physics, chemistry, computer science, engineering, geology, math and medicine.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 - $5,000.
