Health Professions Education Foundation offers several scholarships to California students pursuing careers in the areas of nursing, allied health, mental health and medical. Students must agree to practice from one to four years in areas of California that are considered underserved.

Scholarships include Allied Healthcare Scholarship for students interested in occupational therapy, pharmacy, speech therapy, surgical technician, medical laboratory and other fields; Vocational Nurse Scholarship for students enrolling in a Vocational Nurse program in California; Associate Nursing Degree Scholarship and Bachelor of Science Nursing Scholarship; Licensed Vocational Nurse to Associate Degree Nursing Scholarship; and Health Professions Education Scholarship for the fields of dentists and dental hygienists, nurse practitioners and midwives.

The Health Professions Education Foundation was established as a non-profit organization in 1987 to encourage more students to pursue careers in health-related professions as well as add more health providers to underserved areas of California. The scholarships are funded through private grants and donations.

The number of scholarships and the amount of each scholarship varies, along with application deadlines and eligibility criteria. The scholarships are open to students residing and studying in the state of California.

The deadline for this scholarship VARIES, and the award amount is usually $4,000 - $10,000.
