American Society For Horticultural Science Scholarships awards three different scholarships for students majoring in horticulture to continue their undergraduate studies in the field of horticulture. Eligible students must plan to attend full-time a four-year college or university with a major in horticulture.
Two ASHS Scholars Awards are given to junior and senior undergraduate students to honor their scholastic achievements and career planning in the field of horticulture. The Collegiate Scholars Award recognizes the academic achievements of junior and senior undergraduate students studying horticulture or plant and crop science. They must be in the top 15 percent of their class to be eligible for this scholarship.
The Outstanding Undergraduate Horticulture Student Award honors one student per institution for scholastic achievement and leadership shown in the field of horticulture, pomology, olericulture, floriculture, and landscape horticulture, or plant science or crop science with an emphasis on horticulture.
ASHS is a non-profit, member-based organization based in Alexandria, Virginia that includes researchers, government representatives, college faculty, and those who grow and distribute products from horticulture. The organization supports efforts to improve crops and food sources to improve global nutrition.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,500.
