Spencer Educational Foundation Scholarships

Spencer Educational Foundation Scholarships award students the opportunity to attend college and pursue careers in insurance and risk management. The scholarships are available to both undergraduate and graduate students.

The scholarships are renewable and open to all U.S. and non-U.S. citizens interested in pursuing a degree in insurance-related fields. A grade point average of 3.0 or above is required. Applicants must be enrolled or plan to enroll at a two-year or four-year college or university. Full-time attendance is required.

Spencer Educational Foundation, Inc. offers scholarships to encourage more students to consider the field of insurance as a career. In addition to scholarships, the foundation offers internship opportunities for students to gain valuable, hands-on experience in the insurance industry.

The scholarships are funded by non-profit Spencer Educational Foundation, Inc., founded in 1979 to recognize the work of Robert S. Spencer who was a former president of Risk Management Society (RIMS). His work in educating youth about career opportunities in risk management made it possible for scholarships to enable more students to pursue the field of insurance. More than $4.5 million has been awarded in scholarships since 1980.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JANUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000 - $10,000.
