GEICO Achievement Award Program

GEICO Achievement Award Program helps current college students who are sophomores and juniors earn scholarship money to complete their education. Eligible students must be enrolled in a business, computer science, or mathematics program.

Eligibility requirements include a grade point average of 3.0 or above, enrollment in a four-year college or university, volunteer work in the community as well as demonstrated leadership on campus. Students may major in the areas of Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Statistics or Actuarial Science.

GEICO was formed in 1936 by Leo and Lillian Goodwin in Texas. The company name stands for Government Employees Insurance Company and began by helping federal employees and enlisted military officers with their auto insurance needs. The company has grown to 11 million policyholders and is the largest auto insurer in New York, Maryland, the District of Columbia and Hawaii as well as one of the largest in several other states.

GEICO's dedication to helping college students extends more than 25 years. Every year, GEICO recognizes the academic achievements of outstanding college students through the GEICO Achievement Award Program.  Over 50 students each year receive the award.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
