MIT Scholarships

MIT Scholarships
MIT Scholarships offer scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students enrolling in MIT who have financial need. The scholarship is based solely on financial need.

The scholarships are open to U.S. and Canadian citizens as well as international students. The amount of scholarship awards is based on financial need determined by students completion of a financial aid package. Based on expected family contribution and any other scholarships received, the amount of scholarship award money will be determined and varies with each individual.

MIT scholarships are funded by a variety of sources including grants from established scholarship endowment funds, gifts from alumni and friends of the institute, and general revenues from tuition.

The purpose of the scholarship is to help promising young students with high academic skills who, due to family circumstances, would not otherwise be able to attend MIT. Ninety percent of undergraduate students and 86 percent of graduate students applying receive financial assistance from MIT, a large part of it including a scholarship award.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
