Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards ProgramYoung American Creative Patriotic Art Awards Program is a patriotic art contest for high school students. Up to eight awards are given to winning students submitting patriotic art on paper or canvas.

The contest is open to both junior and senior high school students, as long as students are in grades 9 through 12. Each student may submit one entry which must be signed by their teacher. Entries must be sent to a local Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship Chairman. Scholarships are awarded to winners at the national level from first place to 8th place.

The contest is sponsored by The Ladies Auxiliary VFW. The organization was established in 1914 to support war veterans and their families. The organization also volunteers at veteran hospitals, provides fellowships for cancer research, and gives awards and scholarships that promote patriotism.

Today there are about 5,000 Auxiliaries throughout the United States, Germany, Guam and Panama and 550,000 members throughout the United States, Germany, Guam and Panama.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $500 - $10,000.
