
Students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or above to qualify. In addition to scholarships, the program provides students with mentoring to prepare them for a professional career. The scholarship is available at the following colleges and universities: Colorado School of Mines, Kansas State University, Oklahoma State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, University of Colorado, University of Oklahoma, University of Texas, and The University of Tulsa.
In addition, students who choose to intern with ConocoPhillips may be eligible for an additional $1,000 for each year they complete an internship. Students are chosen according to their academic record, leadership capabilities, and involvement in professional organizations.
Conoco (Continental Oil and Transportation Co.) began in 1875 as a distributor of kerosene. Phillips Petroleum Company was founded in 1905 as an oil well drilling company. The two companies merged in 2002 to become a worldwide producer of light and heavy oil, and natural gas. They have operations in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.
