JCPS/UNCF Minor Daniels Scholarship is open to high school students graduating from a Jefferson County Public school in Louisville, Kentucky, and planning to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
Students must be graduating seniors and have a grade point average of 2.5. They must also be the first one in their family attending college. Although other study disciplines are considered, preference will be given to students majoring in education.
Students may choose one of over 50 eligible HBCU colleges located throughout the U.S., District of Columbia and Virgin Islands. Multiple scholarships are awarded by the employees of Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Kentucky to help graduating seniors attend college.
Jefferson County Public Schools are located in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition to primary education, they also offer residents of Jefferson County adult and continuing education classes. The scholarship is managed by UNCF (United Negro College Fund) , a non-profit organization who works with corporations, foundations and other donors to help more than 60,000 students each year attend college.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $20,000.
