SHPE Foundation Scholarship Program

SHPE Foundation Scholarship ProgramSHPE Foundation Scholarship Program helps defray the cost of college for Latino students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math. Students who are high school seniors planning to attend college, or current undergraduate as well as graduate students may apply. Eligible students may choose from 9 different SHPE scholarships.

Required grade point average is 2.75 for high school seniors and undergraduates, 3.0 for graduate students, and 3.5 for Ph.D. applicants. Students must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university and also be members of SHPE.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is a member-based, non-profit organization working to increase career opportunities for Hispanics in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. Through education, scholarships, and other programs, the mission of the organization is to narrow the current gap of Hispanic representation in these career areas.

Funding for the scholarships comes from the SHPE Foundation who receives donations from federal, state, local and private grants and donations from corporations, foundations and other private donors.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $5,000.
