Flip Wilson Memorial Scholarship offers journalism students at five different colleges a full scholarship for one year. The colleges include California State University Northridge, Rutgers University, Wayne State University, Howard University and the University of Washington.
The scholarship covers all tuition and living expenses for one year. Students can be either communications or journalism majors and must include with their application an essay on Flip Wilson. Students must be familiar with his work and the ways in which he influenced culture and the entertainment industry.
The Flip Wilson Scholarship Trust was created in 1999 to help college students focus on their studies without worrying how to pay for their college education.
