Applicants may be high school seniors, or freshman and sophomores in college. Applicants must be citizens of the U.S. or permanent residents. Applications may be completed online. Applications must include a cover letter stating which college the student is planning to attend or currently attending, and transcripts.
Students must also complete a 400-600 word essay describing how being a minority has impacted their pre-college education. Notification of a scholarship will be received at the end of June.
The scholarship is funded by MedicalGoods.com, an online store for medical supplies and equipment, health products, sports nutrition products, over-the-counter drugs, and more. The scholarship is offered to encourage more minority students to enter the field of nursing.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
