Media Fellows Scholarship Program is open to college juniors and seniors who are attending a four-year degree program at an accredited U.S. college or university. Students applying may major in communications, journalism, marketing, and political science.
Students are required to have a grade point average of 3.0 in their major, and financial need. They must be prepared to explain their financial need and how the scholarship will help.
Applicants must have a strong desire for a career in the media industry. Strong candidates will be those who have experience in an advertising or public relations project for which they received an award, the completion of an internship in advertising research, or other experience in broadcast television, radio, print or online media industries.
The scholarship is sponsored by the Washington Media Scholars Foundation, a non-profit organization located in Washington, D.C. The foundation gives students an opportunity to consider a career in public policy through scholarships and internships with leading companies in the media industry.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JULY of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
