International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) Scholarship Essay Contest is open to high school seniors or current college students attending full-time a U.S., accredited technical school, community college, trade school, four-year accredited college or university, or an apprentice program.
The contest consists of writing an 800-1,600 word-essay on the subject of how the future of the planet's energy depends on the innovation and skill of the plumbing and mechanical industry. Three students will be awarded prizes for first, second and third place. In addition, their essays will be published in IAPMO’s membership magazine and on the IAPMO website.
The scholarships are sponsored by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO). The member-based organization works to protect the health and safety of families by establishing safe plumbing and mechanical codes. Their work ensures that people have clean drinking water, sanitary facilities, and effective cooling and heating systems in their homes.
The scholarships are offered to education youth on the important work being done through the plumbing and mechanical industries. The essays serve to inform students how the plumbing and mechanical industries are closely tied to energy, and encourage more students to consider careers in the field of plumbing and mechanical.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
