American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Scholarships

American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Scholarships are offered to college students majoring in accounting. Four different scholarships are offered to undergraduate and graduate students who qualify.

John L. Carey Scholarship is for non-business undergraduates who want to pursue a graduate degree in accounting. Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students is open to minority students pursuing undergraduate degrees in accounting. Accountemps Student Scholarship offers assistance to undergraduate and graduate accounting majors who are pursuing careers in the CPA profession. Foundation Two-year Transfer Scholarship is for students with an associates degree in business, accounting, finance, or economics who want to transfer to a four-year college and major in accounting.

All students applying for scholarships must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above, enroll as full-time students at a four-year college or university, and be U.S. citizens. Scholarships cover tuition, fees, room and board, books and materials.

Scholarships are sponsored by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), a professional organization founded in 1887 that represents the interests of CPA professionals around the country. The organization establishes educational requirements for CPA's as well as professional standards for ethics. The scholarships help deserving students become future leaders in the accounting profession.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $5,000.
