The Hubertus W.V. Willems Scholarship for Male Students is open to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students attending an accredited college or university in the U.S. The scholarship is specifically for male students majoring in engineering, chemistry, physics or mathematical sciences.
High school students and undergraduate students must be enrolled in college full-time and have a grade point average of 2.5 or above. Graduate students may attend college part-time or full-time and must have a grade point average of 3.0. All students applying must demonstrate financial need.
A total of 20-40 scholarships are awarded each year. Students may apply online. Although it is not required, membership in NAACP is encouraged for all applicants.
The scholarships are offered by the Poise Foundation, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The non-profit organization is dedicated to helping members of the Black Community become empowered and self-sufficient. The organization offers grants and both local and national scholarships that provide assistance to non-profit organizations as well as students pursuing post-secondary education goals.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $3,000.
