Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Heineken USA Performing Arts Scholarship provides financial assistance to students in performing arts. Scholarships are awarded every year to gifted and talented students pursuing careers in music, drama and other arts vocations.
The scholarship is open to high school seniors and college freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Applicants must be enrolled full-time at a U.S. accredited college or university. They must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above, demonstrate leadership abilities, and be active in community service. All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Up to ten students each year are awarded scholarships. Eligible students may major in drama, music, dance, opera, marching bands, and other musical ensembles. To apply, students may submit an application online and include a cover letter about themselves in under 1,000 words, two letters of recommendation, a resume and one visual recording sample of their talents and skills.
The scholarship is offered by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), founded in 1976, in partnership with Heineken USA. The Washington D.C.-based organization is dedicated to global advancement of African-Americans.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $3,000.
