MAES Scholarships
MAES Scholarships are open to Mexican American and Hispanic students pursuing college degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Full-time attendance at a four-year accredited college is required.

Students applying must be members of MAES and citizens of the U.S. or permanent residents. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a grade point average of 2.0 or above. Students must be pursuing a degree in a STEM field. The scholarship is for undergraduate students. Students at community colleges are also eligible if they are enrolled in transferable majors to a four-year institution offering a Baccalaureate Degree.

To apply, students may send an application and include a cover letter, resume, letters of recommendation, and a current transcript of grades. Students are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, community service, and financial need.

The scholarship is offered by the Latinos in Science and Engineering non-profit organization which was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1974. The organization provides grants, scholarships, leadership academies, science programs, symposiums, and other events and programs designed to support and increase the number of Mexican Americans and other Hispanics in the technical and scientific fields.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in SEPTEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $200 - $4,000.
