Randy Pausch Scholarship Fund offers two scholarships each year to current college students who are pursuing careers in interactive entertainment. Eligible students must be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university in the U.S.

Students must have a grade point average of 3.3 or above in order to apply. Eligible areas of study include art, animation, programming, engineering, game direction, game design, sound design, music composition and other interactive entertainment areas. Students applying for this scholarship must demonstrate financial need.

To apply, students must include with their application a cover letter which demonstrates their leadership capabilities, transcript of grades, and two letters of recommendation. The letters of recommendation must be from colleagues or professors who know the student individually. Students applying must have completed at least their first year of college.

The scholarship is offered by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences and named after Dr. Randy Pausch who was a Computer Science Professor and Co-Founder of the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University. The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) was founded in 1996. The non-profit, member-based organization is based in Los Angeles, California, and is dedicated to the advancement and recognition of the interactive arts.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JUNE of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
