The purpose of the scholarship is to help students who are immigrants and lower socioeconomic status. All Latino students, including non-U.S. citizens and undocumented students, are encouraged to apply. A grade point average of 2.5 is recommended.
To apply, eligible students must answer two essay questions. Three students are chosen to win scholarships every year. All applications must include grade transcripts and two letters of recommendation.
Activ8 is a Chicago-based, non-profit organization dedicated to helping Latino and immigrant students in Chicago realize their dream of attending college. The organization also helps Latino students with mentoring and networking opportunities and seeks to improve the lives of Latinos through education and better health.
