Eligible students must have completed at least one semester of school, and they must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above. Applicants must currently be enrolled in an accredited cosmetology program in the U.S.
To apply, students may submit an online application and include a letter of recommendation from a professional at their school of cosmetology. In addition, applicants must complete a 300-word essay explaining why they are pursing a degree in cosmetology and how their degree will enable them to help others.
The scholarship is sponsored by Minerva Beauty, Inc., a privately held company based in Monroe, Georgia. The company is a leading manufacturer and distributor of beauty salon equipment. The scholarship is administered by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) Foundation.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
