Dr. Juan Andrade, Jr. Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders is open to students of Hispanic ancestry who plan to attend a two-year or four-year college or university in the U.S. Eligible students must have at least one parent of Hispanic origin.
Students must plan to attend college full-time. They must demonstrate a need for financial assistance in order to attend college. Applicants must be able to attend the 33rd National USHLI (United States Hispanic Leadership Institute) Conference in Chicago, Illinois where awards will be presented.
To apply, students must include a cover letter, background information, complete a 500-750 word essay on leadership, high school transcript, resume, and three letters of reference.
The scholarship is offered by the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI), a Chicago-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting education, research, and leadership development among the Latino community. USHLI is led by Dr. Juan Andrade, Jr.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $500 - $1,000.
