Eligible students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above. They must also demonstrate that they have regularly participated in charitable activities or volunteer service in school, church, or community organizations. Sixteen scholarships are awarded every year.
The Phoenix Suns Charities was created in 1987 to assist the educational needs of children in the state of Arizona. The first scholarships were awarded in 2007 when the Phoenix Suns basketball team awarded 15 students scholarships of $2,000 each.
Financial need is not a requirement for the scholarship. The scholarship is one time only and is not renewable.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 - $5,000.
