The Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship for high school seniors and golf caddies and is renewable for up to four years. Candidates must have a good academic record and two years of experience as a golf caddie.
Applicants must have completed their junior year of high school and have at least a B grade average. They must have caddied for a minimum of two years at a Western Golf Association (WGA) affiliated club and must be nominated by their club. They must have strong leadership qualities, outstanding character and financial need.
Scholarship recipients may attend any one of 14 universities where the Evans Scholars Foundation maintains a Scholarship House. Examples of some of the universities include University of Colorado, University of Illinois, University of Michigan, Marquette University, Miami University, Michigan State University, Northern Illinois University, Ohio State University, Purdue and others.
The scholarship is offered by the Evans Scholars Foundation, which is funded by contributions from more than 26,000 WGA Evans Scholars Par Club members across the country, Evans Alumni and proceeds from the BMW Championship. The foundation is managed by WGA who conducts championships for professional and amateur golfers across the country.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in SEPTEMBER of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
