IAFC Foundation Scholarships are available to both U.S. and Canadian members of the fire service. The scholarship enables current fire first responders to continue their education toward a Bachelors or Associates degree.
Several scholarships are offered by the International Association of Fire Chiefs Foundation, including scholarships for female first responders. Scholarship money may be used for tuition, cost of books, or other education-related expenses directly related to the pursuit of an Associates or Bachelors degree.
Eligible applicants must currently be an active member of a state, county, providential, municipal, community, industrial or federal fire department. Volunteer fire responders must have three years of experience, and paid fire responders must have two years of experience.
The International Association of Fire Chiefs Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1974 and headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia. The organization's mission is to promote higher education and research in the fire sciences and to educate the fire service community about advanced learning opportunities in science, technology and communications that will help them be more effective first responders.
