The Friends of Scott Foundation Scott Delgadillo College Scholarship
The Friends of Scott Foundation Scott Delgadillo College Scholarship is open to high school seniors from California who are cancer survivors. It is open to students residing in California who plan to attend a two-year or four-year college, university or technical or vocational school.

Eligible students include high school seniors who have been diagnosed with cancer, are currently undergoing cancer treatment, or are cancer survivors. Scholarship recipients are chosen based on financial need and personal circumstances.

In order to apply, eligible students may complete an online application which also requires the completion of a 500-word essay on the topic "How has my experience with cancer impacted my life?" The application must include two letters of recommendation, a letter from the student's physician, and a letter of acceptance from the institution they will be attending.

The scholarship is awarded through The Friends of Scott Foundation, based in San Diego, California, which was formed in honor of Scott Delgadillo by his parents after Scott passed away in 2001 following a battle with Acute Lymphostic Leukemia. It was Scott's goal to continue his education by attending college at Notre Dame. The goal of the scholarship is to make college possible for one deserving student each year.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
