The Bob Leonard Memorial Scholarship (IHOP) Program is open to students who plan to continue their education at a college or university, vocational school or graduate school. Applicants must be IHOP employees who plan to enroll in a full-time program at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
Eligible students include full-time or part-time employees, their spouses, children and grandchildren. Students can be graduating high school seniors up to college graduates entering graduate school. They may attend any accredited two-year or four-year college.
Up to four scholarships are awarded each year. They are not automatically renewable, but students may re-apply each year for the scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on academic record, leadership skills, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, goals and personal or family circumstances.
The scholarship is named after former IHOP Vice President of Operations, Bob Leonard, who had a love for the food service industry and was the Children's Home Society's "Man of the Year". IHOP (International House of Pancakes) is a multinational restaurant chain that specializes in breakfast foods. The company was founded in 1958 and has 1,500 locations in the U.S. and Canada.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
