Grainger Tools for Tomorrow® Scholarship Program is open to students earning their associates degree or certificate in an industrial trade. Students must be in their second year at select community colleges across the country.
This scholarship covers tuition and books for students attending one of the approximately 50 participating technical and community colleges across the U.S. Applicants must be citizens or legal residents of the U.S. studying electronic systems, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, pneumatics, welding, automotive, construction, or other industrial trades. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or above to apply.
Military veterans are especially encouraged to apply. Veterans must be honorably discharged from the military, including Air Force, Army, Navy, Coast Guard or Marines. To apply, all candidates must include with their application one letter of recommendation, grade transcript, a list of all activities and accomplishments, and complete a 200-300-word essay.
Grainger has awarded more than 780 scholarships to deserving students, half of them military, since the beginning of the program in 2006. W. W. Grainger, Inc. is a Fortune 500 industrial supplier of motors, lighting, material handling, fasteners, plumbing, tools, and safety supplies. The company was founded in 1927 in Chicago.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000.
