Leadership 1000 Scholarship awards scholarships each year to deserving students who are attending or plan to attend an eligible four-year college or university in the state of Washington. The purpose of the scholarship is to help low-income students in Washington state.
The scholarship is funded by donors, including individuals, foundations and businesses. Students currently attending a community or technical college will also be considered if they are transferring to an eligible four-year college or university. Applicants must be Washington state residents, have a minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher, and be freshman, sophomores, or juniors.
All applicants must be residents of Washington state and demonstrate financial need. Candidates must have income that falls within the maximum family income allowed in order to be eligible. Students may apply online by submitting a completed application, along with a transcript and letter of recommendation.
The College Success Foundation, which sponsors the scholarship, was established in 2000 by Bob Craves and Ann Ramsay-Jenkins to provide college scholarships and mentoring to low-income, high-potential students in Washington. They are headquartered in Issaquah, Washington, near Seattle.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500 - $5,000.
