USA Germany Abroad Scholarship is a full scholarship for high school students who want to study abroad in Germany. Applicants must be between the ages of 15 years and 18 years and 6 months when the program begins and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
The program is open to high school students only who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. It is fully funded and gives high school students an opportunity to live with a selected German host family and attend a German high school. The scholarship covers transportation costs, spending money, and costs relating to obtaining a passport, a German residence permit, or visa.
The study abroad program gives students an edge on their resume when applying for colleges. They will also learn more about German culture, the German language, and spend 10 months abroad developing friendships and a network of U.S. Department of State program alumni.
The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) program is jointly funded by the U.S. Congress and the German Bundestag. The program was created in 1983 to strengthen the relationship between the U.S. and Germany. Over 24,000 students have participated in the program since its beginning.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JANUARY of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
