Thurgood Marshall Fund/ Ford Oval Scholarships
Thurgood Marshall Fund/ Ford Oval Scholarships are specifically offered to African American male students who are graduating high school seniors. Applicants must plan to attend one of the 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) found within the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) member-school network.
All students who apply must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and also demonstrate financial need. Scholarships may be used for tuition and fees, on-campus room and board and textbooks required for courses.
The scholarship recognizes African American male students who have leadership qualities and plan to attend college full-time. To apply, candidates may submit a completed application, along with a resume, transcript, one letter of recommendation, and a 500-word essay.
The scholarship is offered by The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Ford Motor Company Fund. TMCF is a non-profit organization that works to give outstanding students an opportunity to earn a degree from an accredited college or university.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $6,200.
