Southwest Airlines Education Travel Program For Hispanic Students
Southwest Airlines Education Travel Program is open to Hispanic students 18 years old or older who are enrolled in a college at least 200 miles from their home. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for the program.
Scholarship recipients may be awarded 1-4 roundtrip e-pass(es) for the student and their parent to use when traveling to and from the college or university they are attending. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or above to apply and be legal U.S. residents. The e-pass may be used for travel to any of the Southwest Airlines destinations in the United States.
Candidates should apply online by completing and submitting an application. They are also required to complete four essay questions, each within 300-500 words.
The scholarship is offered by Southwest Airlines and is represented by The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). The organization was established in 1986 and represents more than 470 colleges and universities who are committed to furthering Hispanic higher education in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America, and Spain.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
