The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Young Scholars Program is open to high-performing 7th grade students with financial need. Students who will be entering the 8th grade and have high academic scores in the core subjects, including English/language arts, math, science, social studies/history, may apply.

Young Scholars have an opportunity to participate in high-quality academic and extracurricular opportunities in their local community, on college campuses, and around the globe. Through the Young Scholars Program, students from grade 8 forward will be prepared to be competitive, well-informed applicants for some of the nation’s best colleges and universities.

Scholars get to select a high school, they participate in summer enrichment programs, learn computer skills, and receive college advising and counseling. Applicants must have leadership skills and be of high character, and maintain an academic record of all As and Bs.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is a private, independent foundation located in Lansdowne, Virginia. The organization is dedicated to advancing the education of exceptionally promising students who have financial need. The Foundation was created to provide financial and other support to exceptional students from elementary school to graduate school through scholarships, grants, direct service programs, and knowledge.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
