Shui Kuen and Allen Chin Scholarship

Shui Kuen and Allen Chin Scholarship is open to incoming college freshmen and current college students who are enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university. The scholarship is open to all ethnic groups.

Up to 2 scholarships are awarded every year. The scholarship is not renewable, but recipients who have received the scholarship in the past may apply for it again. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or above and demonstrate financial need. There are no citizenship requirements.

Applicants must be full-time students and can include students (or their parents) who are or were formerly employed at an Asian-owned or Asian cuisine restaurant, and students who participate in local community and social justice work on behalf of Asian American, immigrants, gay and lesbian or other similar causes.

The scholarship is offered to students of any ethnicity through The Asian Pacific Fund, a non-profit organization that administers 12 scholarship programs to help undergraduate and graduate students achieve their higher education goals. The organization is located in San Francisco, California.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
