Betty Stevens Frecknall Scholarship

Betty Stevens Frecknall Scholarship is open to full-time students pursuing a degree in computer science, information technology, computer information systems or management information systems. Three scholarships are awarded every year.

Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply. They must also be members of The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), a professional association that focuses on information technology education for business professionals. All candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Students who want to apply must have satisfactorily completed at least one full semester of college (12 semester hours or equivalent). They must be enrolled as a full-time (12 semester hours or equivalent) undergraduate student at an accredited institution in the United States.

The scholarship is named after Betty Stevens-Frecknall who began her career in computers as a cardpunch operator in the 1940's. She was active in the Washington D.C. chapter of AITP. The scholarship is offered through the Foundation for IT Education, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the professional development of individuals in the Information Systems industry.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
