The Hood Milk Sportsmanship Scholarship

The Hood Milk Sportsmanship Scholarship is open to high school student athletes across the New England states. Eligible students must excel both in academics as well as a varsity sport.

Applicants must be attending a high school in the New England states, including Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Three students from each state will be selected to receive scholarships, for a total of 18 scholarships.

Candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or above. To apply, they must write a short essay explaining how they display sportsmanship and integrity on and off the field. Essays will then be entered into an online voting competition. Ten students from each state who have received the most votes will be selected for review by a panel of judges who will then choose three winners from each state.

HP Hood LLC is an American dairy company based in Lynnfield, Massachusetts. Hood was founded in 1846 in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and is now a subsidiary of Catamount Dairy Holdings LP, based in Chelsea, Massachusetts. The scholarship is managed through Unigo, an online business matching students with colleges, scholarships, internships, student loans, majors and careers.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
