Quicken Loans Scholarship Essay Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, who are at least 16 years or older. Applicants must be enrolled in a college, university, community college, or vocational school in the U.S.

Students may enter the contest by writing a 700-1,200-word article on the topic “Money-saving tips for college students.” Applicants may major in any field. Scholarship money can be used for tuition and education-related expenses. The scholarship is offered twice per year.

All essays must be original work of students. There will be two rounds of judging for the Quicken Loans Scholarship Essay Contest (finalist/first round judging and grand prize/second round judging). Entries will be judged on originality, content, uniqueness, spelling and grammar.

Quicken Loans Inc., is a mortgage lending company headquartered in downtown Detroit, Michigan. In 2012, it became the second largest overall retail lender in the U.S. Quicken Loans makes mortgage loans using online applications. The company employs 13,000 people nationally.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
