AEF Scholarship For NYC Immigrant Students offers scholarships to immigrant students and children of immigrants who are graduating from a New York City high school. Eligible students may attend public or private colleges and universities, regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or immigration status.
Scholarships are only open to students graduating from a high school in the five boroughs of New York City. Applicants must be born outside the United States or have two parents born outside the United States. Scholarship recipients must enroll full-time at an accredited public or private college/university.
Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, and community commitment, as well as qualities valued by the immigrant community including hard work, resourcefulness, and perseverance in the face of adversity.
Ascend Educational Fund (AEF) is a nonprofit organization that helps students of exceptional promise to reach their full potential through higher education. They are dedicated to enabling all immigrant students attend college.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JANUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $20,000.
