AOTF Scholarship Program is open to students currently enrolled as a full-time student at an AOTA accredited or developing professional level (master's or OTD) or occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program. It is also open to students who already have a degree but are pursuing their first degree in occupational therapy.

The scholarship is offered every year to eligible students pursuing careers in occupational therapy. To apply, students must submit a completed application, which includes contact information, resume, record of academic performance, and two letters of reference or recommendation. Also required is the completion of a 500-word essay.

Applicants must have completed at least one year of occupational therapy specific course work. Students studying to be an occupational therapy assistant must be in their final year to be eligible.

The scholarship is offered by The American Occupational Therapy Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 1965 and headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland. The organization is dedicated to supporting occupational therapy research and increasing public understanding of the important relationship between everyday activities (occupations) and health. Its support consists of grants and scholarships, programs, and various publications.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in OCTOBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
