Qualifications:

- Full-time undergraduate or graduate student
- GPA of 2.5 or above
- Leadership ability and participation in community service activities

Include with application a resume, recent photograph, two letters of recommendation, official transcript, copy of detailed Federal Student Aid Report (SAR), and a 500-1,000-word personal statement.
The scholarship is offered through the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, an educational foundation established in 1976 by members of the Congressional Black Caucus. It conducts research on issues affecting African Americans, publishes a yearly report on key legislation, and sponsors issue forums, leadership seminars and scholarships. The Foundation is a separate nonprofit group that offers programs in education, healthcare and economic development.
